A little love letter to my little love bug

Well, I didn’t make my 11:59P.M. deadline so that this post was actually posted on May 27th,
but seeing as I’m still awake I’m going to count it anyway.
So, Braelyn is 9 months old!
Where in the world did the time go? Honestly, because I swear it was just yesterday that I brought her home :(.
There is this song by Taylor Swift that explains exactly how I feel about my baby growing up, and how I want it to at least slow down. Listen to it here....

Dear Braelyn,
I love you. It’s really as simple as that, but seeing as you’ve officially been out of the womb as long as you were in it I want to tell you just how much I love you and what you’re doing now that makes my love for you grow and grow (if that’s even possible).

I love the way you look at me.
Sometimes you have a very curious expression on your face.
Like when you’re experiencing something for the first time and you want to make sure that I am also looking or I’m giving you some kind of permission that it is okay.
It kinda looks like this...Most of the time it’s more simple...you just look at me and smile.
It melts my heart.
Like this...I love the way you recognize me when I walk in the room,
you’re always happy to see me.
This is why coming home from work is my favorite part of the day.
I love it when I tell you “No, Braelyn” for touching something you shouldn’t
and you just look at me and smile..
you must know how to make me melt.
I love the way you giggle.
It is so infectious.
you are the happiest baby I’ve ever met.
I love the way you play with Daddy.
He loves you so much.
I love the way you clap your hands.
You like to watch me clap mine, smile, and then clap yours too.
I love the way you talk to me.
you can say so much without really saying anything at all.
I love to tickle you, you’re most tickle-ish under your ribcage..
I could just eat you up, you are so yummy.
I love the way you put your hand to your mouth when you get excited.
You do that every time Daddy throws you in the air-without fail.
It is adorable.
I love your tooth!!
You are such a champ, people say babies get cranky during teething,
but honestly I didn’t even notice a difference.
You have your moments, but over all you are still your happy little self.
I love the way you sleep.
I love, love, love to let you fall asleep in my arms.
Whether I’m sitting, standing, or laying down...
you are the best snuggler e v e r.
I know I really shouldn’t let you get used to falling asleep in my arms,
but I’ve decided relishing in your sweet innocence
and letting you stay a baby a little longer isn’t a bad thing.
Especially since you are growing so fast!
I love that you love to pretend to crawl.
You will lean over, get in the stance, make a move, and then fall on your tummy, roll over, sit up and do it again.
It’s quite entertaining and makes me feel like you are always willing to try again,
even if you failed the first couple times.
I love the way you giggle at animals...any of them.
You giggle just watching one pass in front of you.
You love to chase Bella around the house,
with me or Daddy holding your hands as you walk.
You love to walk, probably more than you want to crawl.
Which makes me think that once you start really crawling you’ll catch on to walking fast...
we’ll see.
I love your sweet spirit, you’re happy personality-full of silliness and sass.
You are truly a gift, I love being your Mommy.
Thank you for making parenthood as easy as you do. Even your bad days are full of good moments and sweet memories. Like today, you refused to take a nap at your normal time, usually I can put you in your crib with your afternoon bottle and you will pass out, not today. You just wanted to play and play and play; when nap time came around you put up a fight for about 30 minutes before I finally decided to give up, but that just meant I got to rock you to sleep and let you fall asleep in my arms.
I love to hold you close, I know those moments won’t last forever, because soon you’ll be a little person who will either be too big to cuddle or won’t cuddle until you feel like it.
So, if I have to skip doing the dishes to hold you and let you fall asleep in my arms, then by golly that’s what I’ll do,
because it’s worth it.
I love to make you happy. I’m sorry when I have to make you mad or sad. I promise I’ll always have your best interest at heart.
No one will ever love you more than me or Daddy, other than Heavenly Father, of course. :)
Just remember that when a boy or a friend tries to tell you other wise.
Mommies and Daddies will be here for you even when the rest of the world gives up on you,
I never will.
Thank you for making me happy, even though I know that’s what I’m supposed to do for you. You make my job worth going to,
my education worth paying for,
and above all else my life worth living.

I love you, Lynn Lynn.

Love,
Mommy
