Perspective

There are pretty much two ways to see things--positively or negatively. When it comes to how I see myself, I'm usually always negative. Sad but true. And it's pretty much been that way since I was seven. Breaking 16 years worth of habits isn't the easiest thing to do.

When it came to getting family pictures done I was less than enthused, but I knew they were important. So we did them. And I'm so glad we did, and I didn't just avoid them like I tend to do with pictures in general. So like all things, I can see myself in these pictures in two ways--positively or negatively.

Take this picture for example.
I can look at this picture and see
a double chin
roots needing touch up
a less than straight smile
big arms
my midsection isn't showing, but I know it's there, it's always there.
OR
I can look at this picture and see
a happy family

I can look at this one and see two people in love

or this one and see a mom who adores her daughter, and a daughter who adores her mom

or this one and see love.

I love that I have two people who love me no matter what I look like.
All that's missing is my confidence--which I'm getting closer to finding.
I hope I'm on the right path to losing the weight I want to lose this time around.
It's truly a battle to get and stay determined when the journey seems so long.
But I know I can do it.

Thanks for being so patient with me, my little love bugs.

  1. Sher, you are BEAUTIFUL! Mike knows what he is talking about, so listen to him. :) You look so truly happy in these photos, and happiness is at least half of what makes a person attractive. And when I saw your hair I didn't think you needed your roots done, I thought, "Awesome ombre!" So you're right, it's all about how you look at things. :)
